Pyramid Tents
Entry way awning can be rolled up and tied when awning is not needed.
The two guy lines on each of the four corners serves two purposes. 1. They correspond to two interior loops so the tent won't sag when you hang a wet coat. 2. Provide for more stability when, not if, you eventually encounter 60mph winds!
When you lift up the sod cloth you will note that all corners have three stake loops.
Stove jack cover rolls down and velcro's when no stove is used.
Interior view of a 16 X 16 pyramid tent Note: Interior hang loops every two feet on all four corner seams and "firewall" under stove jack. (Your stove can be placed closer to the wall)
Note the vinyl buffer in peak for center pole
The center pole provides for a table and shelves, above, provide grocery space as well as a perfect spot to hang your lantern.
Interior loops are sewn to webbing inside each corner seam. One can hang wet clothing to dry.
Note: The "firewall" sewn under the stove jack allows the stove to be placed very close to the sidewall, thus saving valuable interior space.
"Like some canvas tents, DryLite is not classified as "flame
retardant," and tents made of this material cannot be shipped into New York, New
Jersey, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Minnesota and California.
If an ember falls on the fabric I have never seen the burn hole spread - unlike
canvas. I keep a tube of seam grip handy in case this happens. " STANDARD FEATURES NYLON WEBBING
REINFORCEMENT, not polypropylene!
Seams: Seams are double lap-felled and lock stitched with thread that won't rot as the years pass. Many competitors use chain stitching which can unravel.
Why all the Built in Webbing? We'll never forget a hunting trip to Idaho's Selway Wilderness. The wind blew close to 70 mph on top of Round Top Mountain that night, and it rained heavily. We were awake most of the night worried that our old canvas tent would be blown down at any time. As it turned out, all our sleeping bags ended up soaked. As thoughts of that night loomed we designed the virtually wind-proof pyramid or range teepee tent. Nothing in nature is more stable than a pyramid. Yet, one just can't sew together fabric and expect the tent to hold together. A tent structure must have a webbing "frame work" for structural integrity. The wind needs to pull on the webbing, not on the fabric, per se. In short, the internal nylon web in the seams all tie together to equalize and distribute a great deal of stress exerted on the tents. Out tents may be ultra-light weight, but they are "framed" in a webbed confine. When you're way back in the wilderness in the middle of a bad storm, you can rest assured the Dry-Lite tent will keep you dry and will hold up the worst mother nature can throw at you. Two five foot center poles need to be cut from lodgepole and extended inside. This tent has an optional stovejack.
